Originally established in 1849 during the Gold Rush, the reconstructed Eagle Theatre replicates California's first permanent performing arts theater. The Eagle Theatre features rustic bench seating and a stage suitable for performances and presentations, with modern lighting and sound facilities. It can accommodate up to 150 persons.

Proceeds from facilities rentals support exhibits and programs of the California State Railroad Museum. Operated by California State Parks with assistance from the CSRM Foundation, the California State Railroad Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
